Our mission is to provide the tools and services that software organizations need to enable and accelerate component-based software development. Reusing software components is essential for the efficient delivery of software products and systems in every industry. Whether a reusable component comes from an open source project, from a software supplier or from your own development teams, you need enterprise-class systems to manage the use of software components.

Since most software organizations are still in early stages of adopting a software component supply chain model, we have started by attacking the most immediate business problem: software provenance analysis: understanding the provenance (origin and license) of components that you already have. We provide expert professional services for software provenance analysis. And we are actively developing enterprise software products based on our experience and expertise.

nexB was founded in 2003 by Michael J. Herzog, Philippe Ombrédanne, and François Granade.
