Mission

nexB's mission is to enable efficient and effective software development by applying agile methods and open source tools across the application life cycle. Two key principles apply to all of our work:

Be agile- Agile software development is a relatively new method for designing and developing software that prescribes direct customer participation throughout the application life cycle.

Be open- Open source software is often higher quality and lower cost than proprietary software because of best practices like community/peer review and adherence to standards.

For each customer we aim to help you discover, design and implement the best processes, practices and tools for each stage of your Application Lifecycle.

The processes and practices may be derived from new approaches, such as Agile and XP, or more traditional software engineering methods.

The tools we leverage include a wide range of open source tools, such as wikis, defect and issue tracking systems, continuous integration tools, testing frameworks and more.

We are particularly interested in enabling business software to rapidly adapt to changing business strategies and forces. This requires more openness and agility in the domain of business requirements so that business experts can contribute equally with software experts.
